The elite of Spanish olive oil producers since 2005
Coming from different
Spanish olive-growing areas, the members of the Grandes Pagos de Olivar
association share a distinctive feature: their extra virgin olive oils must
be produced in a limited area, where the concept of the château, typical of
wine culture, is reproduced in the olive grove
Minister of Agriculture Luis Planas expressed his support for the Grandes Pagos de Olivar Association during the event commemorating its 20th Anniversary, held in June at the Abante Foundation in Madrid, which brought together institutional authorities and key representatives from the agricultural sector, gastronomy, and the media.
For the first time ever, the seven member mills of Grandes Pagos de Olivar participated together in an international event at Spain’s Great Match, held this past September in New York at Mercado Little Spain—a landmark for Spanish agricultural products in the city.
Once again, the seven producers representing the elite of Spanish olive growers are marketing their single-estate EVOOs together in their traditional collective presentation box.
The seven producers of fine estate-grown EVOOs from Grandes Pagos de Olivar presented their 2025/2026 harvest during their traditional annual lunch, held this year at Bancal restaurant, featuring a menu specifically designed and paired by chef Miguel F. Vidal.
Agustín Santolaya, founding member of GPO and general manager of Aubocassa, analyzed the reasons why top-quality EVOO is not valued as it deserves during his participation in the panel discussion "Olive Grove: Potential for Spanish Agriculture and Economy."
GPO's EVOOs were selected to participate in the Spain Fusión: The Premium Experience events, by Vocento Gastronomía and Foods and Wines from Spain.
The seven EVOO producers from the Association made a repeat appearance and gained prominence through guided tastings led by expert Nicholas Coleman at Mercado Little Spain.
